I've been thinking about this story by Roald Dahl again recently. One of my faves.

Homecoming

A few months ago, I was commissioned to produce the illustrations and illustrated type for this new novel about a man who returns to his Yorkshire farmhouse roots & family problems from his new life in London. Unfortunately the client went with a photographic direction, so this was unused. But it's definitely given me a few ideas for working more simply, and setting a scene with just a few elements, as well as layering images more selectively.
